It's Dog eat Dog world, out there...

So, I am learning the fine art of Pet Friendly Photography... trying to look at the reality of how the animals are feeling about what is going on... and how the "adults" involved want so bad to make the pet "smile"... but, the kids don't know... they think you want to play... and they love to play... and all the commotion begins...

Of course, they start moving around the set... or they get nervous and pee on the backdrop... all the while, I look for a quick take... there has got to be a better way... and I believe I may know what it is...

I already use cool lighting.... no strobes... so there is nothing to scare the animal.. and if the "parent" is available, they can keep their pet calm... and a good rule to consider is to spend a bit of extra time just petting the animal gently and help it to relax... then, separate from being a part of the scene and watch for eye contact with the animal... snap!... snap!... SNAP!!... I got a good one... I think... I hope!!!

But... it really happens so fast and the opportunity is fleeting at best... how do you maintain control of someone as "manic" as an excited dog... whose "parent" has just returned to get them... who has been given a treat as a reward for being groomed... like children on sugar candy... wild!

So, I am doing this for the challenge... and for the learning experience... I love taking images of people's pets...

Why don't you contact me about it and get your rates..
