Stand still and see what is going on!

Sometimes it is best to just stand where you are and look around at all that is happening in your life... and do an analysis of each aspect... for instance, this business of "Pet Friendly Portraits"... where I am standing it looks pretty promising... and I just need the time and continued opportunity to grow this concept... during this year, especially...

I know it involves a deep investment of time and resources... and I have already made the commitment to develop this... and to enjoy doing it...

I just found out today that the groomer where I have had my studio set up since before Christmas, is interested in a more "permanent" relationship... and let's face it... to have a pet studio in the same space as a groomer... that is unique and helps create a boutique appearance of the studio... and with a more permanent studio, I can accumulate props and equipment... and my groomer can be the only groomer in town to offer a "groom & portrait" package... any day he is open... so, he will have a full time studio and he can do business as a groomer/studio...  it is truly a win-win situation...

So... did I just stand still and this happen? Actually, yes... I had had the thought earlier after I saw the room for the studio, for the first time... but, it was too early in the business relationship to decide anything... now, we are in agreement as to how it can help us both... but, I had to wait until the opportunity presented itself... and when it did... I was aware already and recognized it...  In essence I just said, "Yes!"... and the rest fell into place...

Meanwhile... all my other opportunities are incubating... the one with the major pet store retailer is set... and the ones with the groomers are set... just waiting on the scheduled days... so, I am just watching and waiting... for what other opportunities will grow out of the ones I have developed...

Why share this in my blog?

I think, because I want to be transparent to anyone who cares to get to know me through this blog... I am too old and cranky to put on "airs" about who I am or what I want to do... I am an artist, sad as it is, and I live to create... Photography is my passion and my creative outlet... and it not only involves the art of the photograph... but, the talent in Photoshop and other creative programs... I get to do what I do best...

I see each session as an opportunity to create something that wasn't there before... each pet or person is a unique individual and will create a unique individual portrait... I enjoy being the one that does that...

So, it is more than just being a photographer... I am trying to connect with you... and together we can create something memorable... whether it is your loving pet... or your loving self!
